To your health! A nightcap at the South Tyrol Bar
What the village inn at the town square is for South Tyroleans, the South Tyrol Bar is for the guests of our hotel. This is where people casually drop by, chat and enjoy lively debates, play cards, or simply drink a “Glaggele” (sip) of wine. Take a seat in the comfortable lounge chairs and reflect on the day with a glass of fine South Tyrolean wine, a good South Tyrolean “Schnapsl” (schnapps), or a refreshing South Tyrolean gin creation.
It’s hard to say no…
… to a good glass of wine. Because our wine cabinet stores our absolute favourite wines, which are as magnificent as the vineyards south of the Alps. Among the bottles are wines from the Kellerei Meran winery and from the Biedermannhof in Tscherms, where sacramental wine was made as early as the 14th century, which will transport you to South Tyrol in terms of taste just as much as the fresh, elegant Castel Monreale sparkling wine from the Schloss Rametz winery in Meran and the outstanding gin. With edelweiss or huckleberries, wild blackthorn or lemon – our gin varieties are as varied as South Tyrol’s landscape. We serve Felix Luis gin with South Tyrolean tonic water and fresh juniper berries. The gin comes from the small village of Mals in Vinschgau (a famous valley in South Tyrol) and is characterised by South Tyrolean botanicals and citrus aromas. Together with friends, Klaus Pobitzer from Garberhof in Vinschgau is the ideator and producer of this fabulously tasty gin. The ten different South Tyrolean schnapps are also delicious and truly something special. Join us on a journey of discovery – one sip at a time.
